We had hoped to have a memorial service on Saturday to accomodate all of our working family and friends but unfourtunately we have to wait until Monday morning. The service will be at 10:00 at GlenLawn Memorial on Lagimodiere. The interment will happen immediately thereafer followed by a reception. We are hoping that those of you that have children, especially those that know Calla and Maya and knew Georgia will consider bringing them at least to the reception. We are planning on having a balloon release if all goes to plan. There will be a viewing on the Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until 4:00 for those of you who wish to see Georgie one last time.
For those of you coming from out of town the closest hotel is the Canad Inn Windor Park. It has a pool and a waterslide and is just down the highway from the funeral home. Also for all of you out of towners who are making the trip would you please contact us via email. We are trying to get a better idea of numbers. Of course, all are welcome.
You will find the obituary in Friday and Saturday's Free Press.
Love to you all,
Kristen

What a extremely heart rending day you have had, yet you have taken time out to post the information for Georgia`s memorial for us all.
ReplyDeleteWe will hold you all close and uplift you in prayer and love.
We will be unable to attend the memorial, but will be on our knees at 10 o`clock asking God to hold you Mike, Calla and Maya in His arms as you say goodbye to your sweet angel.
We will never forget how you have both filled Georgia`s little life with so much love.God bless you both and her two sisters as well.
Love to you all
Carol and Colin,

Mike and Kristen,
ReplyDeleteWe are so deeply sorry for your loss. No words can express the sadness we feel, yet, at the same time the joy of knowing that Georgia is in heaven in Gods' arms. We pray that God will give the strength to face the future knowing that Georgia was a bright light in this world, if only for a little while. We can't say anymore now as how we can't ever know the pain you are going through.
All our love,
Jaime & Angela Rodrigues
Just a quick question...
ReplyDeleteIn lieu of flowers are you requesting donations be made to a certain organization or are you collecting toys for the hospital in Georgia's honour?
The obituary will ask that donations be made to the Children's hospital but we also support the many organizations supporting families with SMA or doing research to find a cure. We ask that you follow your heart in this case and donate to a charity that you feel is best. Toys are always great too!

Please Don't Cry
Publisher:Dawn Glenton
Please don't sit round my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.
What makes you think that I would leave?
I'm with you mum, so please don't grieve.
Our bond on earth was much too strong,
Our love will carry on and on...
I'm with you as you go to bed,
I plant sweet kisses on your head.
I'm in the wind, the rain, the snow,
I'm with you everywhere you go.
Please don't cry mummy, can't you see?
I'm safe, my spirit soars, I'm free.
Hi Kristen, Mike , Calla and Maya,

I am so sorry for you're loss. She was so blessed to have you as her family. Below is a poem that helped me get through the loss of a close friend last year. I hope it will be able to help you too.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts and prayers are with your family.

The Dragonfly
Once, in a little pond, in the muddy water under the lily pads,
there lived a little water beetle in a community of water
beetles. They lived a simple and comfortable life in the pond
with few disturbances and interruptions.
Once in a while, sadness would come to the community when one of
their fellow beetles would climb the stem of a lily pad and
would never be seen again. They knew when this happened; their
friend was dead, gone forever.
Then, one day, one little water beetle felt an irresistible urge
to climb up that stem. However, he was determined that he would
not leave forever. He would come back and tell his friends what
he had found at the top.
When he reached the top and climbed out of the water onto the
surface of the lily pad, he was so tired, and the sun felt so
warm, that he decided he must take a nap. As he slept, his body
changed and when he woke up, he had turned into a beautiful
blue-tailed dragonfly with broad wings and a slender body
designed for flying.
So, fly he did! And, as he soared he saw the beauty of a whole
new world and a far superior way of life to what he had never
known existed.
Then he remembered his beetle friends and how they were thinking
by now he was dead. He wanted to go back to tell them, and
explain to them that he was now more alive than he had ever been
before. His life had been fulfilled rather than ended.
But, his new body would not go down into the water. He could
not get back to tell his friends the good news. Then he
understood that their time would come, when they, too, would
know what he now knew. So, he raised his wings and flew off
into his joyous new life!

Dear Kristen, Mike, Calla and Maya,
ReplyDeleteWe were so very sorry to here of the passing of your little baby Georgia. Your little angel is now being cradled in the arms of Jesus free from all her pain and suffering. Our hearts and prayers go out to you and you loved ones at this very difficult time.
She was a very lucky little girl to have you as her parents. As the poem “God’s Lent Child” said: God searched the whole world over to find the best parents for Georgia and gave her to you because He knew she would be so loved. Love Linda and John
CRADLED IN THE ARMS OF JESUS
And now she's gone to heaven
to have her perfect rest
your beautiful little baby girl
whom all the angels blessed.
With tiny soft and feathered wings
they cradle her on high
and somewhere down upon the earth
her mother softly cries.
Sitting in her rocking chair
she inhales her baby's scent
the blanket that once held her,
her mother's heart now spent.
For her darling precious baby girl
went away too soon
and all that's left are memories
to fill her baby's room.
A silver-plated rattle
a cute fuzzy teddy bear
And on her soft and downy pillow
a lock of her baby's hair.
Picking up the lock of hair,
She held it to her breast
"Dear God", she spoke with heavy heart
"May my baby find her rest".
Smiling through the silky clouds
with all her baby charms,
your beautiful little baby girl
is cradled safely in JESUS arms.
Love you guys and thinking of you.
