Welcome to Georgia's Journey

Georgia Lily Lucas was born at home on October 6th, 2008 4:15am, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was diagnosed with SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) on April 1, 2009.

On April 3rd Georgia was taken home, to be near her sisters and the rest of her family and friends. Nearly three weeks later, on April 21, 2009, she died peacefully -- in the loving arms of her mother and in the same room in which she was born.

April 20th, 10:00 AM

Don't have time to talk. Georgia is working much harder to breathe this morning. No one is sure which way this is going to go. We are taking it hour by hour. If you are praying folk, please pray for Georgia to get stronger and give us more time. Thank you.

  12. Kristen and Mike, I can't even begin to imagine what you are going through. But I can pray my little heart out and that's exactly what I'm doing!! I've shared your site with many others that I know are praying too. I know all this praying kept Georgia with you for the past 9 days and I believe the prayers can do it again!
    Love,
    Lorna

  13. Our Father Who art in Heaven,
    Hallowed by Thy name
    Thy Kingdom Come
    Thy Will be done
On earth as it is in Heaven.
    Give us this day,
    Our daily bread
    And forgive us our trespasses
    As we forgive those
    Who trespass against us
    Lead us not into temptation,
    But deliver us from evil.
    AMEN

God bless all of you as Georgia has left this world to officially become one of God's Heavenly Angels! May her soul rest in peace. AMEN

  18. When God calls little children
    To dwell with Him above,
    We mortals sometimes question
    The wisdom of His love.
    For no heartache compares with,
The death of one small child,
Who does so much to make our world,
    Seem so wonderful and mild.
    Perhaps God tires of calling
    The aged to His fold,
    So He picks a rosebud
    Before it can grow old.
God knows how much we need them,
And so He takes but few,
To make the land of heaven
    More beautiful to view.
    Believing this is difficult
    Still somehow we must try,
    The saddest word mankind
    knows will always be Good-by.
So when a little child departs,
    We who are left behind
    Must realize God loves children,
    Angels are hard to find.
