Welcome to Georgia's Journey

Georgia Lily Lucas was born at home on October 6th, 2008 4:15am, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was diagnosed with SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) on April 1, 2009.

On April 3rd Georgia was taken home, to be near her sisters and the rest of her family and friends. Nearly three weeks later, on April 21, 2009, she died peacefully -- in the loving arms of her mother and in the same room in which she was born.

6 months

Today our Aria is six months old. Last year on this date I was afraid to even imagine what it may be like to have a six month old baby again. But here she is!


We smile when she smiles, we laugh when she laughs and we rejoice when she cries ever so loudly.

    I have tears,I know how much of a blessing this little girl is and the joy she is bringing to your family. I can feel Georgia smiling down, showering all of you with her love and I know she is helping Aria be the mischevious little one that she is! :-) Love and hugs, Em
